We are pleased to announce a portion of Seasons of Buffalo Baseball 1857-2020 book sales will go towards The Willie “Hutch” Jones Educational and Sports Programs and Omega Mentoring’s Baseball, Softball, Soccer & Mentoring Program, in memory of Joseph M. Overfield, the former historian of the Buffalo Bisons.

The program will be based out of the Johnnie B. Wiley Amateur Sports Pavilion (the former War Memorial Stadium) on Buffalo’s East Side and will also be offered in select city parks.

The purpose is to teach boys and girls fundamental life (social skills) development and sports skill development, as well as academic support to develop a sense of pride, self-confidence, and competence that leads to greater success in family, social, academic, and business situations.

The mission of the program is mentoring and educating Buffalo’s youth about life skills through the fun of learning to play and compete in baseball, softball, and soccer.
